Chromium-6 Parts Washer – Coming Soon

Safe, controlled neutralisation of hexavalent chromium Cr(VI) contaminated parts, built around Eco-Point's Chrome-6 Neutraliser.

We’re developing two purpose-built parts washers for sites that safely handle components coated or contaminated with hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), from valves and flanges to brackets and machined fittings. Both units neutralise Chromium-6 at the point of cleaning, contain the spray and fumes, and recycle the neutraliser so you use less and dispose of less.

Why a dedicated Cr6 parts washer?

Hexavalent chromium is a known carcinogen, and cleaning contaminated parts with general-purpose solvents or open tanks can spread it rather than deal with it. A dedicated washer system lets your team:

  • Neutralise Cr(VI) to non-carcinogenic Chrome-3 (Cr(III)) as parts are cleaned
  • Keep spray, mist and run-off contained within an extracted workstation
  • Recirculate and filter the neutraliser, reducing chemical use and waste volumes
  • Support your COSHH controls with a defined, repeatable cleaning process

Two models in development

Compact Parts Washer
Designed for workshops, maintenance teams and smaller sites with lower throughput.

  • Single-operator stainless-steel workstation
  • Integrated 60-litre neutraliser reservoir stored in the base of the unit
  • Pump-and-filter recirculation, neutraliser drains back to the reservoir for reuse
  • Hand-held spray wand, mesh work surface and fume extraction hood
  • Side-mounted drying rack with drip tray returning to the unit
  • Approximate size: 120 x 70 x 90cm

Full-Size Parts Washer System
Designed for higher-volume decontamination, outage work and dedicated Cr6 controlled areas.

  • Manual spray station with extraction and splash guard
  • Multi-shelf treatment/drying rack
  • Automated spray cabinet for batch cleaning of parts
  • 125 litre reservoir capacity, footprint and power requirements to be confirmed

Who it’s for
Energy-from-Waste and power generation sites, nuclear and process plant maintenance teams, aerospace, automotive and defence MRO, fabrication and engineering workshops, and any operation where parts carry Chrome-6 coatings, primers or residues.

Frequently asked questions

When will the parts washers be available?
Both models are in the design phase. Registered contacts will be the first to hear confirmed launch dates.

What does the neutraliser do?
Eco-Point Chrome-6 Neutraliser converts carcinogenic hexavalent chromium (CrVI) into non-carcinogenic trivalent chromium (CrIII) on contact.

How is the neutraliser recycled?
Used neutraliser drains from the work surface back into the reservoir, passing through a filter, and is pumped back to the spray wand for reuse. On the compact model, there is a 60-litre container in the base of the unit.

How do I know when the neutraliser needs replacing?
Regular checks with a pH tester and/or a stated number of cleaning cycles.

Do I still need PPE?
Yes. The washer is one part of your control measures. Operators should continue to wear the PPE set out in your COSHH assessment.
