Hex Checks Chrome-6 Neutraliser - 1 kilo
Neutralise hexavalent chromium on contact
The HexChecks Cr6 Neutraliser is a powdered concentrate that chemically converts carcinogenic hexavalent chromium, chrome 6, Cr(VI), into non-carcinogenic chrome 3 on contact. Unlike soaps and detergents that simply move contamination around, the Neutraliser eliminates the hazard through a chemical reaction, making it a source-directed control measure for Cr(VI) decontamination.
Use it as you would an ordinary cleaning product: spraying, wiping, mopping, immersion, ride-on floor cleaners, wet foot baths, laundry. It is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, non-staining and non-abrasive.
Why a powder concentrate?
Each 5 kg pail makes 95 litres (25 US gallons) of ready-to-use neutralising solution. Shipping powder instead of liquid saves 98% in shipping weight and 99% in storage space, simplifying site logistics. Use the supplied measuring scoop to mix by the litre or by the gallon: add powder to water, mix thoroughly, then spray, hose or wipe the contaminated surface.
Where is it used?
Chrome 6 dust and residues arise during welding, grinding and cutting of stainless steel, removal of chromate paints and primers, maintenance of gas turbines and combustion engines, and industrial demolition. The Neutraliser is used by maintenance, decontamination and demolition teams to treat contaminated surfaces, tools, PPE and floors before, during and after work, supporting employer duties under COSHH and HSE guidance to control exposure to carcinogens at source.
Verify your decontamination
After treating a surface, confirm it is free of Cr(VI) with a HexChecks Cr6 Test Swab or laboratory wipe-sample analysis. Test – treat – re-test is the recommended workflow for a documented, defensible decontamination record.
