Why this free test kit?

This test kit is specifically designed to check whether Cr(VI) compounds are formed at high temperatures (above 300°C). This process can occur when chromium from steel alloys reacts with insulation materials containing elements such as calcium and sodium. This risk is relevant in the case of:

• Work on industrial installations and pipelines
• Maintenance of furnaces, turbines, CHP engines and other heat-stressed components

Testing should be done between the insulation mattress and the steel part, or on the inside of the insulation mattress.

⚠ Please note: The ST01 swab test is a rapid indicative test and can give both false positive and false negative results. In case of a negative test, we recommend verification with the SEEF Cr(VI) Test Kit – TK01 or laboratory analysis. This test is not suitable for testing paint.
